Welcome to my world! (Continued)

I published my first novel, Amanda’s Room, in 2012, where I combined my experiences in prisons and jails with facts about violent weather. Then I added my own mix of paranormal coincidences to act as a catalyst for this supernatural stew. This original version of the book contains headers at the start of each chapter that provide facts about the weather. At the beginning, they are simply helpful in understanding terms used later in the book. But as the story progresses, these headers provide clues as to what will transpire in the story and the lives of the characters: like mini-mysteries within a mystery. The book challenges you to uncover the source of power in Amanda's room and then, in Perfect Storm fashion, I take you on a violent-weather thrill ride of thunderstorms, tornadoes, waterspouts, and hurricanes.
In 2015 I published the Amanda's Room Traveler's Edition. This abridged version of the book eliminated the chapter headers for those who enjoy a faster read.
My newest novel, Wounded Angels, will be available on-line and in bookstores on January 14, 2020. You will find detailed information about the story by clicking on the BOOKS button above and selecting the Wounded Angels title.
I am past President of the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at the University of Connecticut (OLLI at UCONN) and past Editorial Board Chair for "Voices and Visions," the annual OLLI literary and arts review. I have taught extensively throughout the country on Criminal Justice, Management Development and Disaster Management and am past Board of Directors Chairman for Every Dollar Feeds Kids / Connecticut, a non-profit organization that raised money to feed hungry children in the US and abroad. I am also a playwright and my poem, Miner's Lament, won third place in the world-wide Writer's Digest Writing Competition. A reading of my play, Wounded Angels, based upon the upcoming novel, was performed at Seven Angels Theater in Waterbury, CT on April 22, 2018.
My father was a coal miner in Pittston Pennsylvania and is the inspiration for my future historical novel, Black Hell Drowning. I grew up one of eleven children in the tough East New York section of Brooklyn New York, served as a Platoon Sergeant in the Marine Corps Reserves and now live with my wife, Judy, in suburban Connecticut.
