One of the most important elements of a successful book is its cover. No matter how interesting the characters, exotic the setting or compelling the story, it won't matter if your cover doesn't draw people to open the book and look inside. Like me, however, many authors don't know where to look to find book cover designers who are competent and reasonably priced. Thanks to the internet, we have a world of highly skilled designers waiting to offer their services without driving us bankrupt and a great one of them is Fiverr.com. This site offers a wealth of services across many fields, and one of them is book cover design. Some of the best features include viewing actual covers already designed, tracking the number of designs produced, selecting among various packages (e-book only, e-book and print, 3D cover displays, etc.) at very reasonable prices and checking the ratings and reviews by past customers. This can a powerful tool toward becoming a successful author. To be fair, many designers are critical of sites like these which offer services at prices that make local competition difficult. Yet, as independent authors, we cannot afford to overlook the benefits of tools like these. What is your opinion of sites like fiverr? What other resources have you found for competent, reasonably priced book cover designs? To your success, Chuck Miceli.
